Mother meets Jory
Mother: Who's this guy again?
Cameron: Jory. He's another Grey Warden recruit.
Mother: Jerry?
Cameron: Jory.
Mother: Why does Jerry whine so much?
Cameron: He's there to oppose Daveth in their opinions on becoming a warden. Daveth appears ready and willing, if only a bit cautious. Jory represents the unwilling mind set. He sees the joining as cruel and unfair. That way you can kind of see two opinions on the matter from other people in your position.
Mother: He's a whiner.
Cameron: Yeah, kind of.
Mother: He is unfit to be a warden.
Cameron: You don't even know what it takes to be a warden.
Mother: I know he doesn't have it, whatever it is. I hope Jerry bites it.
