Ziggy has figured out I hide the treats in the cat carrier. He thinks it is not fair to keep his friend, Freeze-Dried Chicken, locked up like that. He has spent the entire day pawing at the bars and pining for his lost love.

Lintilla is made of fluff and hate. She hates me, she hates that cat, she hates her food, she hates that cat, she hates her bed, she hates that cat, she hates being touched, and she hates that cat. Affection is only tolerated on her terms, and in the exact quantity she wants. For the most part, she lives under the bed or in her laundry basket, emerging only at meal times.

I’m having a mild brachial plexopathy flare-up today, so my vision is wonky (my injury site effects the nerves that allow the eyes to focus as well as the arm/shoulder). Lintilla is my satellite, hovering around me and meowing if I zone out too long or veer too close to an obstacle I can’t see. If I don’t listen, she boxes my feet (standing) or grooms my face (sitting) until I respond, then goes back to hovering out of reach.

Wow I had to stop reading because 1. Dunno what you’re talking about cuz I suck at this game and 2. I think I might be spoilered but it doesn’t matter because I have no idea what I just read AHAHAHA oh god so excited!

Getting through Adventure the 1st time taught me so much about the game. I’m actually starting to get good at things like kiting and killing tentacles now. I still run screaming from walruses if they catch me unawares, but baby steps.

I beat Adventure Mode with Wickerbottom.

(spoilers below)

And then I turned around and beat it with Maxwell because I didn’t want him taking over her world. Wickerbottom definitely has an easier time starting up on the 1st world, but not having to worry about sanity was really nice in Darkness. Especially since Maxwell’s darkness was impossibly huge; I wandered for 3 “days” before getting the first change in tone on the divining rod. Also, going through Adventure with Maxwell when someone else is on the throne is freaking weird. I almost want to take him through in his own world, just to see if he shows up to taunt himself.

The Game is Afoot is definitely my favourite level, especially if I get lucky and get it as world 1. I spent 60 days there with Wickerbottom and 73 with Maxwell, unlocking everything I could for the journey to come. King of Winter is my least favourite, by a lot. If I have to get it, I prefer to have it as world 4 so I can be prepared and just run through it, rather than waiting around to try to get a tam and tusk before the walruses get me.

I still haven’t seen Wes. Not sure if I’ll do another run to try to unlock him or not. Maybe I’ll take Wolfgang through next time, just to make it a bit easier.

I hardly last very long at all anymore, but it’s so much fun! If I didn’t die every time I played I wouldn’t stop playing it and then I would get nothing done. Now I really really want to play T_T cursed finals.

There’s a big update coming in a few weeks, so there is nothing lost in waiting until after finals. :)

I had my first glimpse of Deerclops around day 150, but he found me moments before the spring thaw and disappeared with the snow, so I dodged a bullet. I need to decide if I want to stick around for the next winter and finally face the beast, or flee through the teleportado. This is actually the 2nd world of this playthrough, I went through the teleportado on day 9 in world 1 because the map had no pig king.

Every few months, I drive up north to see a play with my uncles. The plays are always quite good and thought provoking, and I always enjoy it. But it is family, and exhausting.

My uncle has MS. It is mostly controlled with medication at this point, but there is no denying that he is very ill. About 10 years ago, the illness progressed to the point where he had to go on permanent disability (SSDI). His husband took care of most of the heavy lifting, including the task of convincing my uncle that this was the best course for him to take.

They have started talking about doing the same with me. They have offered to get me evaluated by my uncle’s neurologist to see if she agrees and would support me seeking SSDI.They also hinted that they’ve spoken to their lawyer to see if the process has changed significantly since they applied for my uncle.

I am… conflicted. Realistically, I am not getting adequate pain management and I’m not sure I’m capable of holding down a full time job in my current condition. But, I want to work. And going on SSDI feels like, I don’t know, a failure on my part. That the injuries finally won.

And I’m resistant to let family help with much of anything, given how costly that has been in the past. The most toxic members of the family have died, but there is still a lot of sickness. And none of us are very good at communicating. Or trust. There are a lot of old wounds that aren’t even all that old.

I know there is nothing lost in applying for SSDI. And it may not come to anything, most people are rejected the first time they apply. And it would provide a way forward to getting some much needed care. Just…

Last night, a sudden wind storm blew in. It went from unbearably hot to chilly in a matter of minutes, and the storm lasted well into the night. My cats, like me, have spent their entire lives in California and do not understand weather. Several times during the night I was woken by one or both of them growling at the storm. No vengeful wind spirits or demon dogs burst through the windows, so their vigil was successful.

I have so many pretty high heels that I can't wear anymore but can't bare to throw them out

I should have stopped when I realized just how bad off my yarn was. And, the pattern really calls for more aggressive blocking than I did, but I just didn’t care anymore by the time I got to that point. That said, I did learn a lot with this project that I can apply to future ones. Including some things I want to try next time I make a scarf with this pattern.

Now, I do not make any effort to “properly” store my yarn. I wouldn’t even know where to begin. We don’t get wool-eating moths in this part of the world, and my house isn’t even climate controlled for me. So, I hesitate to blame the problems I had with this project on the yarn. Especially since I have not seen any negative reviews for it. However, this was the splitiest, most prone to breaking and fraying yarn I have ever used. As frustrating as it was to use it on a lace project, I’m glad I never actually made socks with it because they would have been too fragile to wear.

The pattern had the usual problems you get when someone tries to modernize a classic lace. I spent a lot of time and frustration following the given chart before I gave up, frogged the mess, and recharted so that there were mirrored decreases where there should be and centered decreases where there shouldn’t, rather than the random mishmash provided. And it is a gorgeous lace that I will probably use again for making gifts.

So, now I have another light-weight, lacy scarf for when I need to look like I know how to dress myself. There will be pictures once it’s done blocking and there’s daylight for taking them.

so, do any of you know of a good software that i can use to take screenshots? as a mac user i’d usually just command+shift+4, but that doesn’t work on the windows partition and there’s no “print screen” button on my mac.

also, does the toolset just like, COME with the pc version of the game? do i have to download it somewhere?

i’d really like to make my lynne and take screenshots and just generally have fun ooh yes but

I play on a bootcamped Mac. You have a few options. You can change the screen print key in the game options (I use F10). There’s also a screen shot program call Gadwin PrintScreen (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) that I’ve seen good reviews for. It lets you set a universal key for taking screenshots in any program and functions very similar to the iOS screen capture.

After spending far too much time fiddling with the toolset to make a head morph for Adaia that looked vaguely like the original, I then redid my Panna Tabris to look like her parents. The biggest changes were to make her brown liker her mother, give her red hair like the rest of her family, and give her a chin, but I’m quite pleased with the “final” version.
